Mission

Why tractlyAI exists

tractlyAI exists because the contracts that govern revenue, spend, and risk deserve more than a forgotten drive folder. We make AI contract management practical for growing teams: you upload PDFs and Word files, organize by workspaces and categories, and chat with RAG so claims can be checked against the text. Reminders, dashboards, and usage-aware plans keep renewals and AI consumption visible. Our mission is to be the first place a team looks when a deadline, question, or negotiation touches an agreement—without forcing a year-long CLM program before the first value lands.

Origin

From scattered PDFs to a system of record

Ward Philips started tractlyAI after watching high-performing teams drown in PDFs, inboxes, and ad hoc spreadsheets that each claimed to hold the "real" renewal list. Legal needed traceability; sales and customer success needed speed; finance needed confidence about auto-renew, fees, and non-standard terms. The file shares stored documents, but they did not answer questions at 5 p.m. on a Friday—or surface who had to act before a notice period expired. The gap was not "more storage" but a product that combines retrieval, plain-language Q&A, and deadlines in one system. He founded tractlyAI to pair the workflows teams already use—upload, folder-style categories, a shared list—with RAG that stays grounded in your own agreements and automation that nudges owners before options disappear. That founder narrative still guides us: the contract layer should feel as operational as a billing system, not a dusty archive, whether you are a lean SMB or a larger org connecting multiple workspaces and members.

Positioning

How we are different from legacy tools

Legacy contract tools often start with a heavy deployment and end with a repository. tractlyAI starts with a simple loop you can use on day one: upload organize ask act before the date—with Stripe for subscriptions, transparent usage, and a multi-tenant workspace model that matches how you already separate teams and data.

  • Citations, not a black box

tractlyAI is built for contract Q&A on your corpus, with answers you can line up to the text—RAG in service of trust, not a generic paragraph that no one can verify. Legacy tools often file documents; we anchor responses in the clauses you actually signed.

  • Time to value, not 18 months

You start in workspaces: upload PDF or DOCX (up to 10MB), organize with categories, set reminders, and use the dashboard without a global CLM program first. A Pro trial, Stripe-backed billing, and usage visibility match how real teams buy software today.

  • A stack buyers can interrogate

Multi-tenant boundaries, a pipeline from upload to retrieval, and a product surface that does not hide behind bespoke services. That is the bar for a modern B2B SaaS: clear limits, clear ownership, and a path to audit the story from file to answer.

Build & security

Tech we are transparent about

The tractlyAI web app is built on Next.js and runs on a hosting stack suited for a global SaaS. Our API and data services use a modern mix that includes a document store for your workspace records, MongoDB for product data, and a vector store (Qdrant) so retrieval for chat is explicit and testable, not a magic string. Stripe underpins subscriptions and transaction history, while SendGrid and related channels support operational email like reminders. We think B2B buyers should understand that pipeline—from upload to embedding to answer—because trust in AI software comes from how data moves, not from a slide deck. Our roadmap keeps doubling down on encryption, least-privilege access in workspaces, and a clear line between tenant data and model behavior.

Careers

We are a small team shipping fast. If you care about contracts, retrieval systems, and a product that respects operators, we want to hear from you. Open roles are posted as we add them; until then, send a short note and what you have shipped to careers@tractlyai.com. We also offer a 14-day Pro trial if you are evaluating the product for your org—start from the site when you are ready to try the real workflow, not a slide deck.
